OUR MISSION
Our mission is to deliver innovative, reliable and cost-effective heating and cooling solutions across Australia for the commercial and industrial market segments.
OUR VISION
Our vision is a future where natural refrigerants are the standard, not the alternative, and the Australian cold chain is powered entirely by natural refrigerants.

OUR HISTORY OF APPLIED INNOVATION
Early Movers
In 2018 MB installs a transcritical CO2 integrated REF-AC system for a large Independent Retail group in Victoria, one of the first of its kind in Victoria. This is quickly followed by several more projects as CO2 rapidly gains traction in the Australian market.
In 2019 MB installs a transcritical CO2 plant for an industrial cold storage facility in NSW.
Design & Fabrication
In 2021 MB begins design and fabrication of its own engineered-to-order (ETO) CO2 refrigeration systems in Bayswater, Victoria, with an initial focus on integrated REF-AC plants for Supermarkets.
Heat Pump Development
In 2022 MB designs and manufactures its first air-to-water CO2 heat pump for space heating, the QDX-HP.
Integrated Plant Development for Supermarkets
In 2023 MB designs and manufactures its first integrated REF-AC DX Integrated CO2 Plant and begin IP development and patenting of their integrated plant design.
Low Temperature Thermal Storage
In 2024 MB designs and manufactures its first Low Temperature Thermal Storage (LTTS) system, fully integrated into a 1.2MWr CO2 refrigeration plant for a meat processing facility. The LTTS provides ~1.5MWh of cooling capacity, enabling load shifting of up to 90% of the electrical refrigeration demand for 4-6 hour blocks.
Reverse-Cycle DX CO2 Chiller/Heat Pump
In 2026 MB designs and manufactures its first reverse-cycle air-to-air CO2 chiller/heat pump (the QDX-DX) enabling cooling, heating and dehumidification from a single chiller package unit.
OUR VISION
Contributing to a Sustainable Society
Our vision is to see the Australian industry transformed through the widespread adoption of sustainable heating and cooling systems that enable Australian retailers, food processors and cold chain operators to successfully manage regulatory risks and escalating energy costs while unlocking long-term value within their operations.
To help achieve this vision MB Refrigeration have developed a unique capability in the Australian market, with the ability to design, manufacture, install and service bespoke heating and cooling systems using the transcritical CO2 refrigeration process. Our offering gives our customers the opportunity to deploy cutting-edge and sustainable Refrigeration and Airconditioning (RAC) systems while supporting local Australian manufacturing and industry.
